If you have followed me for any time at all, you know that I’m a sneaker junkie. The collage above shows just some of the ways I’ve styled my favorite shoes over the past six months or so. I’m a college student, a nanny, and I spend a lot of my free time doing outdoor activities like hiking, so on any given day, you’re gonna find me in comfy shoes! Over the past year or two, I’ve fully embraced the “athleisure” trend… see my posts about it here, here, here, and here. Buuuut, let’s be honest, we’ve all been rocking the gym attire for running errands for years. The fact that it’s not “trendy” and has a name makes it that much better. I’ve tried so many different shoes and brands, that I figured I had some insight to offer y’all about sneakers and which are my favorites!
There are a few pairs of sneakers that I reach for if I know i’m in for a long day on my feet. When we go to Disneyland, or if I have a long day of errands, comfort is my priority for shoes. I have two pairs that are a tie for my most comfy: these and these. I will insert a bunch of colors of each, but they are both perfect for all day wear. The Adidas are definitely sportier looking, so I typically style them with yoga pants. The New balances are SO versatile though. They look great with shorts, jeans, or straight up workout clothes. The Adidas shoes sizing is sometimes tricky, but my true size is perfect in both of these styles. If you are standing on the job, are chasing littles around, or just want a supportive shoe, these are for you!
P.S. The Adidas are tricky to shop for. This particular style is released in limited batches of each color and sizes are constantly selling out and being restocked. They are linked below through a U.K. site, but you can order from the U.S. and actually save money… more about it below. This site has the best stock and you actually save money! Make sure to keep checking stock if you don’t see your size.
I don’t branch out a ton when it comes to my workout shoes. I typically am either walking or hiking outdoors, in which case I wear these. They are by no means a sleek, stylish athleisure type of shoe, but they are insanely comfortable and durable. I’ve had my current pair for five years and have worn them to death and they are still great! If you are doing outdoor activities or running, I highly recommend them. For gym workouts, these are all I wear. They are lightweight and work perfectly for me workouts. I do circuit training, weight lifting, and cardio workouts with these are they’re great. These also transition really well for casual looks! They’re my most worn tennis shoes for sure.
I definitely wear sneakers for function and comfort, but I also LOVE the look of them. All of the brands are really stepping up the game to create stylish designs. Obviously, Adidas is having a major moment, but other brands like New Balance are as well.
Styling for Spring/ Summer
Pair these with denim cutoffs & a white tee.
These would look amazing with a denim skirt or chambray sundress.
If you love white denim, these would complement them well!
For a lighter take on the most popular shoes of the year, go with these.
Please share with me what your favorite pair of sneakers is! I have a lot, but am always on the hunt for a new pair. How do you plan on styling them this Spring/ Summer?!
